The evening of Jim & Britt’s wedding, just as we were about to leave, Jim stopped James and I to ask if we would plan a surprise road trip in October for his new bride Brittany. At that moment, we knew the depth of which his love went for Britt and what a great addition to our family he would be.

All smiles, he told us how much we meant to Britt and her brother Buster growing up. We would take my little cousins along with our son Corey out around Halloween on ghost hunting road trips late at night and share spooky tales along the way. Jim endearingly shared every detail of our adventures as if he had been there right along with us. He was just the sweetest, Britts cherished childhood memories meant as much to him as they did to her.

That October we succeeded in surprising Britt and we had one last cherished day together in Mansfield. It turned out to be a gorgeous sunny day walking around town, eating Reuben sandwiches, grabbing coffee and pastries, record shopping, touring the Mansfield Reformatory, and ending at the Phoenix Brewing Co.

By the end of the evening all of our faces hurt from the continuous smiles and laughter that had taken place throughout the day, with no dull moment spared. This is how I choose to remember Jimmy 🖤🖤🖤

We love you Brittany
Our sincerest condolences

When I heard of this tragedy my heart broke for all. I couldn’t imagine my young niece being injured and waking up to the news of losing the man she loved was gone. Every picture I ever seen they both had the biggest smiles of true love. I pray for Brittany and the family, he is watching over her always. Deepest love Cheryl

I was blessed to meet my son on September 3rd around 7:30am. He came into this world with his eyes wide open. James has always been a very creative soul with a caring heart. I love you son!
I met you only 3 times. Every time I thought he is so cute and so happy! I remember your smile. I took pictures of you because of your smile and happiness with life. I wish I would have got to know you better❤️
Jimmy we are definitely going to miss that smile on your face and your outgoing personality. Even though our time was short, we thank God for the time we had. I know you are surrounded by Aunt Diane (Grandma), Grandpa and many Uncles. We love and miss you deeply. 🤟
Jimmy you are such a bright happy joyful spirit
Anytime we gathered for family reunions you were such a joy to be around💚💙

I graduated with Jimmy. I didn’t know him personally, but I remember a genuinely kind person with a big smile and even bigger personality. He will be immensely missed. Prayers for peace and closure to his family and friends.
I’ll always remember Jimmy’s kindness, his laughter and his love for others. He didn’t mind going out of his way to help others. I remember how excited he was, when he went on a mission trip to Mississippi with some folks from our church. He didn’t know anyone going except for his one friend, but by the time they came back from the trip everyone was telling me what an amazing young man he was and what a pleasure he was to be around. I’m not sure Jimmy ever met a stranger.

I will never be able to bake Monster Cookies without thinking of Jimmy. He always made me feel good when I made them, and he’d tell others that those were the best cookies ever.

Jimmy, was a man who loved puppies 🐶 , he would say that the best smell ever was “PUPPY BREATH.” I love you, Jimmy.
I’m sad to say I didn’t know Jimmy well until he and my granddaughter Brittany got married last year . I could see the deep love they shared for one another and how he made her laugh . I have a video on my phone from that night of the two of them dancing and laughing. Every once in awhile I watch it and I can feel the smile on my face grow until it turns into a laugh , just as it did that night . It is a rare quality and a true gift from the Lord to be able to make others laugh and bring so much joy into their life’s. What a beautiful legacy to leave that as others remember him it will always put a smile on their faces and laughter in their hearts. His life was short but his impact on the world around him will live on forever.. I’m so grateful that the memories Brittany will have of jimmy will be ones that along with sorrow will bring her times of joy. He will be deeply missed and loved by all who’s life’s he touched.
