James's obituary
My Dad was born in The Bronx, NY in 1935. He grew up there until his teenage years when he and his parents moved to Rockaway, NY to live walking distance to the Atlantic Ocean. So it’s easy to see how he grew up with a love of the ocean and of The NY Yankees.
He served in the US Navy for four years followed by a short stint in The Merchant Marines. He then returned to Rockaway and got a job as a Ground Serviceman for Trans World Airlines. He worked for TWA from 1964 until his retirement in 1995.
He moved us out to St. James, NY on Long Island in 1969. He drove 46 miles from there to JFK for 20+ years until he transferred to St. Louis. He finished his TWA career in Atlanta. He and Mom bought a condo in St Pete Beach, FL during those years and that is where he initially retired before stints in Sun City, AZ, West Melbourne, Fl, back to Phoenix and eventually Cave Creek. His favorite thing to do in retirement was driving himself to his errands; car wash, Walmart, Costco. During his stints in Arizona he was able to make multiple trips to the California and Oregon coasts. I want to thank him for providing my sister and I a great home to grow up in, for making me want to be a pilot, and for introducing me to the great game of golf. In lieu of flowers Dad would have liked to see any money that would be spent to be sent to The Phoenix Childrens Hospital.
