Dad….he was just Dad  to me. In my life I had a father, a stepfather and DAD.  This  often confused people since he was the only Dad I ever spoke of. Often they assumed  he was my Father…..and he was!  He was the only father that was always there for me and I am eternally grateful!

Mr. Hynes and my father both shared a love of the Yankees, but for many years would not see a live game at Yankee Stadium because they didn't think it was "safe" to go there anymore.  My fondest memory  of Mr. Hynes was when Jim and I, after sneaking into the Bronx to see the Yankees multiple times, invited our dads to the annual Old Timers Day double-header. Thankfully, they decided to go and the four of us had an amazing time. It was great for Jim and I to be able to watch our dads have so much fun watching the Yankees of the present as well as the heroes they grew up watching. I feel privileged that I was able to see Mr. Hynes on a recent trip to Phoenix shortly before his passing.

Dearest Jim.  I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your father.  I was lucky enough to meet him on several occasions.  My heart goes out to you and your family.  You are in our thoughts and prayers.
