James Nash Henderson was born in Austin, Texas to Fay L. and Sophelia Henderson on August 26, 1942. He was the 5th of 6 children born to this union. All family members preceded James in death, except his youngest sister, Marie. James attended school in the early years of his life in Austin. His family relocated to Oakland California when he was 9 years old. He attended Laney and Merritt Colleges in Oakland CA. Shortly …
