I, along with a few other coworkers of Jim’s in Calgary, would often gather for brief “breakfast meetings” to discuss the day’s tasks or review the previous day’s work.
Jim was always the quiet, thoughtful and even keeled among us.
Which is why we called him “Father Jim”.
A wonderful man, and a sad loss for so many.
My sincere condolences to Trina and all his family and friends.

I have only the best memories of Jim. He worked for a defense contractor in Ottawa when I was with DND in the mid 80s. Our working with data and drawings began then and I was surprised when, about 8 years later he and I again found ourselves working in the same areas at GD. So many proposals and other dealings, and he was always so even and hard-working. Very sorry to lose him.

I knew Jim for only 5 years, working with him as he vigorously pursued the information needed to produce bids and proposals for GD. I first met him in Rome where we both were working on GD issues there, and found his interest and commitment to his work remarkable, and his clear love of mountains to the north an obvious passion. And after that he became a fixture in my work, calling me at 230 am from time to time and "giving me a moment to wake up" before he methodically laid out what he needed, and wrangled all the inputs from those of us who supported his drive to generate business for the company. An energetic, but calm and steady hand on the tiller. I am deeply saddened that he is no longer with us, and his family and friends. Please accept my very heartfelt condolences; my thoughts are with you.

I knew Jim primarily from his work on proposals at GD. He was excellent at this of course, but I think most importantly he was just such a nice person to interact with. His calm, positive demeanor combined with a tenacity to deliver on time, was as beneficial to those working with him, as it was the work itself. I was so stunned to read about his passing, I'll really miss him.

This is a beautiful tribute to a very kind soul. I had the pleasure of working with Jim for over 10 years and his dedication and caring was clear. Jim, you will be greatly missed.
I was truly saddened to hear of Jim’s passing.

I was lucky to work with Jim on numerous occasions throughout our careers and always appreciated his support and leadership. Jim always had time to answer questions and always ensured everyone was supported.

We discussed proposals often, we discussed skiing often! Jim always offered his professional support and also a room in Revy if needed.

My deepest condolences to Jim’s family and friends.

I had the honour of working along side Jim on different occasions over the past 15 years. Jim was the consummate professional- dedicated to his craft, loyal to his colleagues, and always humble in his demeanor. Jim was kind to all, patient, and always willing to listen.

Please accept my sincerest condolences.
