It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Allen Brooks, Jr.; aka Juba, who left us on December 4, 2025, at San Leandro Hospital. He was born on August 15, 1965, in Blythe, California to James Allen Brooks Sr and Elvida Brooks. Both preceded Juba in death.
Juba is survived by his daughter Jamie Brooks, Virginia Johnson, brother Troy A Brooks, sister Lanae Neal and a host of family and friends who cherish his memory and continue the legacy. Juba was preceded in death by his sister Carla Tyson and brother Malcolm Brooks.
Juba was loved & had lots of love in his heart for others. He was witty, funny, “spirited”, kind, and compassionate, all rolled up in one. The most important thing about him, is that he loved the Lord and his friends & family.
In honor of Juba’s memory and his commitment to raising his daughter Jamie Brooks, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Virginia Johnson/Jamie Brooks @ 32650 Endeavour Way, Union City, California 94587.
