My sincerest condolences to the family. I had no idea that she had passed. I was a fellow in rhinology and allergy under Dr Corey way back in 1997/1998 at the U of C. She was a respected mentor who demanded excellence from her fellows and inspired them to achieve greater heights in their medical careers. I learned a lot working under her. I am very grateful for the opportunity to have trained under her considering that I come from the other side of the world, the Philippines. She will be missed. I will have prayers and masses offered for the repose of her soul.

Dearest Family of Dr. Jacqueline Corey Hain: It is with profound sadness that I have just learned of the passing of your dear Mother, Wife, and Family matriarch and our Outstanding Leader and Physician & Surgeon colleague. Spending much of my life in Hyde Park as well, I enjoyed very much learning more about her profound accomplishments - a Strong Woman, indeed! As the Chair of the Illinois State Medical Society Rules and Order of Business Committee, we want to share our appreciation and sincere gratitude for her service to the Committee and thoughtful and caring advice and opinions as we considered and crafted Legislation for our State's largest Physician organization. With Her help and suggestions we became a better Organization, able to help our Patients, our Communities, and Physician Practices in a far more meaningful manner. We owe much of that to Dr. Corey Hain. Thank you for sharing her with us; we are all better for it! God Bless you as you grieve her transition, and do so knowing she indeed left the World a better place. Sincerely Yours, Steven D. Williams, MD FACS, for our Society President Dr. Piyush Vyas, and the Illinois State Medical Society and Staff.

I send all my condolences to Jacky’s children, sisters and brother. I met her in Sterling when I was staying with her family in 1973 and I really appreciated her human qualities.

My heartfelt condolences to Jacky’s children and family. I was Jacky’s nurse for 10 years , from 1989-1999. Although we drove each other crazy sometimes, she was always a kind and generous person to work with. Jacky helped so many people with allergy, sinus and voice problems. Her patients stayed with her for years. She was incredibly patient and thorough.

Jacky and I shared a love of music, dining out, and movies. She was my partner at the CSO and Lyric opera and we loved exploring new restaurants. More than the fun times, I called on her to take me to the ER—she stayed with me 8 hours—during my own cancer journey. And I was often her ride to her medical appointments. She was a compassionate and steadfast friend and I will miss her.

I met Jacky who graciously helped me learn more about allergy by spending time with her in clinic. She was such a great help when I started my academic career! I always enjoyed catching up with her over the years when I saw her at meetings, My condolences go out to her family and loved ones.

My deepest condolences to Jacky's family! I was so saddened to hear of Jacky's passing. We were friends and roommates as students at Carleton. Many of my fondest memories from college are of the good times we had together. I'm posting a photo of Jacky with the cat who shared our dorm room on first Goodhue during our sophomore year. Her love of cats, as well as her passion for music and dedication to an exemplary career in medicine stood out even then. In sympathy,
Bev

I am so sorry to learn of this sad news. Please accept my heartfelt sympathies. My son and Ben were inseparable childhood friends. Jackie also proved to be a rock solid, responsive and incredibly thorough physician to both me and my son. May her memory be a blessing.

I had the pleasure of doing a year-long rhinology/allergy fellowship with Dr Corey at the U Chi. I learned a great deal, was an author on 7 papers, I believe, and the fellowship launched me into an academic medical career. I feel forever indebted to D J Corey for her mentorship, and friendship. She will be missed.
