I would mostly say that my mother Jacquelyn Gail was a very hard-working woman who loved her job as a teacher and was involved in improving the lives of her students. She decided to go back to teaching even after she retired. Teaching was her life! There are many highly-dedicated teachers in the United States!

Freda visited Wallace when he was in hospital in North Carolina after an auto accident. I believe he had a rather long stay at hospital. Jacquelyn and Wallace are my parents. They had 3 children named Laura, Bill, and Rebecca. At the time of the accident, Jacquelyn was expecting her first child.

In 1954, William Frank Sweany and Freda Agnes Craig Sweany celebrated 25 years of happy marriage! They would later celebrate 68 years of marriage! The two of them truly loved one another as they also loved their families. They were close to all of their brothers and sisters. William's lifelong dream, as a hard-working American who got a job pumping an organ at age 16, was to send his future child to university and see her have success in life. Jacquelyn was loved, not only by her parents, but especially by her public-school students during her long career in education in West Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia (44 years of service in the schools). I know she demanded a lot of her students because she truly believed in "tough love"! Many of them have reported to me that they got a lot out of her classes! My mother Jacquelyn taught school until she was 78-years-old! I'm not sure my grandfather would have liked it that she worked until such an advanced age, but she got bored without a lot of people around her and needed to communicate ideas. Mother was truly an extrovert, possibly possessing an ESFJ personality type (if I guessed correctly about the extroverted, sensing, feeling and judging type). My grandfather William, also known as Bill (a typical ISTJ) would have been glad to know that his money spent on her career was truly well-invested to help Jacquelyn to educate her students. Mother loved working hard at school! Perhaps, I should add that back in the 1950s, and even when I was young in the 1960s & 70s, my mother's extended family, which lived in Ohio, West Virginia, and Tennessee, truly loved each other. Weddings, anniversaries, graduations, birthdays, and seasonal holidays were celebrated together with exceptional cheer! No one ever fought. Life in the countryside was all about helping one another. Family members cooked delicious food and baked more cakes, pies, and sweets than people do today. We didn't know about the harmful effects of sugar at the time. Many family members, whom I knew well, liked to play games including table pool and horseshoe-tossing. I sure have a lot of good memories of the 1960s and 70s! Every anniversary was such a joy!
