Independence “Penni” Padgett, 59, passed away on Wednesday, March 30th, of natural causes. The daughter of Eddie Crawford and Priscilla Simpkins, Penni was lovingly adopted by her predeceased grandparents, Woodrow Padgett, Sr. and Helen Baylor Padgett and raised in Coalwood, WV. She attended Marshall University, where she studied Elementary Education. She spent much of her adulthood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she raised her two sons.
