The Carreiro sisters (Margaret, Ilda & Elaine) and the Musto sisters (Fran, Diana & Tina) grew up together a couple of houses apart. We shared a wonderful childhood together, played together, went to school together, went to each other's birthday parties, and remained lifelong friends. Our mothers were friends until they died three months apart. There are countless memories of our time together that I will always cherish. My sisters and I grieve along with Jeff, Brandy, Amberly, Margaret, Elaine, her beloved grandchildren, and her nephew Josh. My deepest condolences to you all.

We extend our deepest sympathy and condolences to everyone who loved Ilda. She was as strong as she was loving. We will miss her. Cousin Terri and Bob Kane
My entire family especially myself will miss Ilda. We appreciated and benefited from her life time work of helping children learn to read. Ilda’s optimism, acceptance of differences, love of life and learning will be remembered by us. We are so lucky to have known Ilda.
Karen Warrington (Robbins)
Ilda embodied using knowledge in the advocacy for children. She had a command of both literacy and child development that was a super power.

Ilda held an unwavering stand; always on the side of the child. She employed a same side of the table approach (as long as conversations remained student centered.) 😁

Ilda was relentless in her quest for gaining understanding. She always sought more information and inspired those around her to achieve the “aha moment”. Ilda listened, she challenged, she reflected and followed up.

Ilda guided struggling students to prove that they could find success. She lit up when traction was gained and her commitment to the student, the family and the team continued even when her direct involvement ceased.

Ilda had passion; an exuberance for teaching and learning that was electric. Learning from her, and working with and alongside her, was both a privilege and a treasure.

I will miss Dr Ilda King!

I am so sorry. Ilda was a fierce strong loving woman who has finally been released from all the pain she should never have felt. My heart is with you all at this time.
My memories of this woman go way back to childhood school days especially High School days where she was such a high achiever which followed her throughout her life. I had the opportunity to get to know her much better these past three years where we shared lots of laughter, funny jokes and family stories. She was a brave woman that’s for sure and she will be missed.
💕. Fly high my friend💕
My sincere condolences to all of you

I was so sorry and sad to hear about Ilda. I knew her from elementary school but didn’t get to really know her until these past few years. She was a very giving person, she certainly made a difference in this world. Rest in peace. My condolences to her family.

Sincerely,
Mary Ann

So very sorry to hear of my sweet cousin’s passing. Ilda was always such an interesting person to listen too. Her devotion and commitment to her family always amazed me. My deepest condolences to Jeff, her daughters and extended family.
Simply one of a kind, a force of nature like no other and a brilliant educator. Ilda we will miss you always. Brandy and Amberly rest assured your mom has been critical to the success of children! We pray for peace and comfort to your entire family and everyone who adored Ilda.
Amberly and family,

I'm so sad to hear this news. Your mom was like no other, and you loved her as fiercely as she loved you. You are an amazing mother because of the mom you had. I hope that you find peace, beauty, love and laughter whenever you think about her. I know you will each and every day.
