Humzey Yessin, 95, of Lexington, Ky passed away September 17, after a short illness. Born October 6, 1927 in Williamson, West Virginia to Syrian parents who eventually settled in Harlan, Kentucky, Humzey was the starting guard for the 1944 State Championship basketball Harlan Dragons. He also was an outstanding shortstop for the baseball team, recruited by the Boston Red Sox, playing semi pro for the Bluegrass League in Versailles. His career at the University of …
