Hello Bonnie, my name is Gene Kubicki and I went to high school with your dad. We were cut out of some of the same cloth, quiet and not super popular. We often played chess together in study hall, I seldom beat him. We also comprised 2 of the 3 seniors taking calculus sitting in the back of a sophomore math class, Howard would usually let me me copy his homework, I might have been a little lazy and Howard was certainly smarter. I joined the Navy upon graduating and I see Howard went into the Army. He was a very kind man even in high school and I wish I would have looked him up yrs ago.

Howard was one of the brightest people I’ve ever had the opportunity to meet.  But more than that he was such a gentle and kind person.   Every time he would come visit for family gatherings, he would get down on the ground with my dogs and pet them.  They were always so excited to see him because they knew they were in for a lot of attention. He also had a quiet wit about him that I always appreciated. I could always count on him to quietly crack a joke at the dinner table. Not everyone would hear, but if you were fortunate to be listening, you could always get a chuckle.  I was always clever enough to make sure I sat next to him so I could enjoy his humor.  We appreciate the time we were able to spend with Howard over the past 6 years.  We will miss him dearly.

Bonnie, Ryan and I send you a lot of love.  Your family cared for him and made sure he was safe and loved during his illness.

Howard was one of the brightest engineers I've ever had the pleasure to work with. More than that he had an extremely refined sense of humor and some of the witty remarks he made while we worked together will remain with me forever.
Unfortunately I was also there in the beginning of the decline and I remember well how hard it was to witness and feel so helpless to sit by and watch.
He will be missed but more I appreciate the time and life lessons he taught me.

During Howards time here at Juniper Village he taught us the power of kindness.  His kind sweet demeanor was a constant.  We were very Blessed to be a part of his family and he ours.  He will be missed.

God Speed my Friend!

I was saddened to hear of the passing of one of my best friends.  Back in the early '80's while working at Farmland Howard and I loved to go eat lunch at Sonic and we both would get the footlong chili dog.  We enjoyed talking about telescopes (and the universe), science fiction and computers (and the programs we would write).

I always admired the way he enjoyed being a father and was such a great role model for Bonnie.

My wife, Kathy and I visited him at his care facility a couple of years ago and was surprised to learn he had an artistic side, as well.  He was very proud of the art work he had hanging on the walls.

To Bonnie and her family...I am very sorry for you loss.  Howard was a special type of person and he will be missed by many.

Love

David and Kathy Guth
