Hilda “Carmen” Peters of Allentown, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Born in Lima, Peru, she was the daughter of Augusto and Hilda Monteverde. Carmen worked for and retired from PPL Electric Utilities and was part of the very large family of all who worked there. One of Carmen’s biggest accomplishments was being a mother. Carmen was blessed with two children, a daughter Jessica and son Jeffrey. Her grandchildren Peyton, Jude, Bryce and Ian were the loves of her life. Carmen loved traveling to her native Peru as well as several other countries abroad. She was always a force of nature and tried her best to help others in all situations. Her faithfulness in the lord was always strong and found her peace and strength in life. Carmen was preceded in death by her parents Augusto and Hilda, sister Maria, brothers Gustavo and Dante. Carmen is survived by her children Jessica and Jeffrey, daughter-in-law Krista, grandchildren Peyton, Jude, Bryce and Ian, and brother Carlos as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 9th at 2PM at Beit Simcha located at 1111 Grange Road, Allentown, PA 18106.
