Henry's obituary

Henry Shelton Douglas was born February 8, 1941, in Bryan, Texas to the late Edward Wadsworth Douglas Sr. and Willie Mae Douglas. At the age of two, his family moved to San Francisco, California. Henry graduated from Mission High School in San Francisco in 1958. In 1959, Henry entered the Air Force and in 1963 he met and married Brenda E. Staff. To that union, five children were born. In 1971 while stationed at Nellis Air Force Base Las Vegas Nevada he learned the truth. Henry was honorably discharged in 1973 to become one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Because of his love for Jehovah, he was baptized, September 15, 1973.

Henry worked for San Francisco Municipal Railway as an electrical mechanic and retired in 2001. In 2001 he returned to North Las Vegas, Nevada where he met and married Earthell Cason, March 24, 2002. Together they enjoyed the privilege of attending four International Conventions, as well as serving where the need is great. While in Eldorado and Shadow Creek congregations he also enjoyed his service as a ministerial servant.

Henry loved life, cooking, dancing, playing cards, children, working in and out of the house even being called "Jack of all Trades." He loved deep-sea fishing, and to the children in the congregation he was called "Candy Man."

In 2013, Henry was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and on May 26, 2020, he fell asleep in death.

Henry is survived by his loving and devoted wife Earthell, children: Mark (Sheri), Adele, Donna, Shelton, Melissa,
Dunetta (Eric), David, Dershel, and Denita (Darryl). His sister Gloria Hunter, 19 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
