Personal note from Henrique’s family

The story of our dad, Henrique Ferreira, left this world on August 14, 2024.
He was born to Joao and Delfina Ferreira on June 2, 1934. He was one of seven children, siblings, Armando,
Manuela, Odete, Ze (Jose), Lee (Leonilde), and Beta.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Virginia Ferreira and children, Joe [Kathryn] Ferreira, Anna [Jeff] Noack, and Victor Ferreira. His grandchildren, Cristina, Charlotte, Laura, Sky, Roquel and 6 great grandchildren.
His life was filled with accomplishments, a professional soccer player for U.F.C.I. Tomar Portugal, And a police officer in Portugal. Then he took the leap in 1966 where he immigrated to the USA in New Jersey. He was a provider for not only Virginia, but also for his children. He
worked hard to provide a home where we all were proud of.
He worked in construction for a while then built a 20-year career at General Motors where he retired. Wherever he worked he was praised, his employers would always say “can we have 2 more just like Henrique”.
Along the way he was given nick names such as “Tres Pes” (Three Feet) when he was playing
soccer, because his header was as strong as anyone’s kick. Our most favorite nick name was “Mil Homens” (a thousand men, just like the Greek Mythology).
He was a loving father, quiet and helpful unless he needed to express his dissatisfaction, which he could without saying a word.
We called him “Superman” because there was nothing he wouldn’t take on to improve his family’s well-being. He is our hero, our dad, our Eekey and the man we will truly miss!
