On the morning of June 21, 2022, Elizabeth “Betty” Ewerts of Clearwater, Florida died at the age of 84. Betty was born to Kenneth and Alma Hanson in Leesburg, Florida on November 11, 1937. She grew up in Fruitland Park, FL playing with lifelong neighborhood friends who became known as The Camphor Tree Gang. The group later in life took yearly vacations together.
