Dr. Arnone was a through and through professional. extremely cool and composed, capable to think strategically and evaluate tough situations with insight and ...humor. I worked with Hattie as a director of assessment for the School of Management, NYIT.  This meant Dr. Arnone was directing my efforts so very skillfully to get an accreditation of the SoM program in Vancouver. For the record, we could not have done without her. Rest in Peace, Hattie.

A beloved friend who gave me gracious sanctuary in her home after my divorce in 1984. I gem of a Human Being.

Hattie was an oasis of good humor, sound logic and creative problem solving. As a colleague, her office was a respite from chaos. Your tribute to her was beautiful. She touched many lives and left us better for having known her. My deepest condolences to her loving family. Wishing you peace during this difficult time.
A life well lived, a life too short. Our time together will always be fondly remembered. Many memories, loads of laughter, streams of smiles, all of which I feel honored to have shared with her. May her lively spirit continue to bestow love to all.

I am better because of Hattie; will cherish her forever.
I first met Hattie at Hampshire College when Chris and my son, George, were first-year students and friends. We almost instantly became friends. Some years later, Chris and my daughter, Joy, married and have two sons. Hence we share grandchildren. Hattie was warm and full of life, a trait that is an integral part of Hattie!

My husband and I met Hattie when she was first married to Dennis Connolly and we all lived in the Village. She was a little shy but kind, well read and seemed so in awe of her husband. Dennis was outspoken and definitely not shy. As the years went by, she became more self assured, confident and inquisitive. We were in the same “ women s consciousness “ group. It was very popular in the early 70 s to try and “ raise our consciousness”. Both of us questioned the agenda of such a group, and after a few sessions decided to drop out. We were both busy with our careers and then we had children. We lost track of each other as the years went by and we went different ways. I missed our conversations . Many years later she came to the high school where her oldest son was a student. I was an administrator at the school and we talked for a long time about how our lives had changed as working mothers. She had a very good job at that time and she was more confident and worldly. I wish we could have stayed friends.
I met Hattie in 2018. She came to me for her first haircut after her hair had grown back after beating cancer. It was an honor to be the first to cut her hair. We talked a lot about travel and family. She was so supportive of my new business and one of my first Jersey City clients when I opened. I’d see her regularly walking around Hamilton Park. She’d always check in on me to see if my business was doing ok because of Covid. I will forever be grateful for the time I had getting to know her. What an inspirational woman. Sending her family and friends my deepest condolences. I’m so sorry for your loss. She will be missed.
Hattie showed me how precious life is. She loved and appreciated many things each day - the ocean, the opera, her family and friends. Walks in the city and in the country, fine food and wine, learning new things, making nee friends, reading good books, giving a special gift to a grandchild, working on a garden, laughing with friends and colleagues. Hattie was full of joy and shared it easily. I hope to follow her example. She will be sorely missed.

Hattie was my first cousin on my mother's side. My mother died in 1970 at age 50, and so we had not seen much of each other or kept in very close contact for quite some time. I remember reaching out to her when my daughter Maggie was looking at colleges, and how receptive and helpful she was in helping Maggie consider Middlebury (ultimately Maggie went to Holy Cross). From my earlier years I fondly remember our family gatherings on Long Island and in Westchester, her high energy, buoyant personality, and her wonderful sense of humor! Deepest condolences to all the members of Hattie's family, including my other first cousins Peter and Paul.
My condolences and prayers. Her presentation style was especially captivating.

This was the whole Planning & Assessment team out for Hattie's retirement lunch in 2016. I miss having her at NYIT often. My deepest condolences.
I didn't get to work with her for very long or very often, but the first meeting I attended that she was leading, she made me feel welcome, was respectful of everyone present who was sharing thoughts and ideas even if she didn't agree, and she displayed a wicked sense of humor. I liked her immediately and am glad for the opportunity to have worked with her even for a little bit.
My prayers are with the family. Hattie was so fun to be around. I enjoyed spending time with her on our two weekend get aways to Boston ❤️ Good memories! Suzie

I get to know Hattie from our involvement in the MAP21 project at NYITCOM. She was such a great leader for the project. The more I know her, the more admiration I have for her as a colleague and as a friend. She had great work ethics and was such a quick learner of a wide range of topics. Most importantly, she always treated everyone with kindness and respect. She will be dearly missed at NYITCOM.
Hattie was an incredible lady who was tireless in her efforts at NYIT. While Hattie was our client, she was always such an amazing spirit that I'm proud to have called her a friend. I know how much she meant to her friends and family and her community -- she will truly be missed!

Hattie hired me in 2008 right after I graduated from WVU. Since then, we had worked in the same office, day in and out together until she retired in 2016. Hattie had been my supervisor, my professional mentor, my friend, and my closest confidant till the last day.
I am so heartbreaking that I still can’t put words together thinking of her, but I am trying…

As a professional, she was capable of working with all kinds of personalities-(herding cats in academics). She inspired and motivated people not only by her great personality, her wisdom, but also by always putting extra amount hard work into it to make it first class quality. To any accomplishment, she would always make everyone involved feel happy, and proud being part of the success. Who would not love to have a colleague like this? No matter what kind of mind set they walked into, they come out to love her!

I remember vividly how Hattie arranged my first birthday party in our office in 2009, and introduced me to all landmarks of New York city in the weekend. Since then we had been going together to all kinds of museums, parks, dinners, lunches, holiday events, even during the 2020 pandemic. A couple of weeks ago, we were still talking about when the leaves come out, we would walk together again….

To the family, you will find an extra set of keys in Hattie’s key chain. Those are keys of my home doors. I opened my home to Hattie, and now the keys are yours: I am opening my home to you, and welcome!
