Hattie asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to some organizations close to her heart. If you would like to remember Hattie with a donation, please consider the following charities:

• SHE SHOULD RUN: https://sheshouldrun.org

By identifying and tackling the barriers to elected leadership, She Should Run convinces women from all political leanings, ethnicities, sexual identities, and backgrounds to see themselves as future candidates. Our programs unveil the many pathways to leadership, guide them toward discovering their "why," and connect them with a supportive Community who are in varying stages of their own journeys, ultimately building their confidence toward a future run for office.

RESCUE.ORG: https://gifts.rescue.org/prod…

Education is not a luxury—it is a lifeline for children in crisis. $58 can supply the school fees, books and other supplies a child needs to continue their education for a year.

• PREPARA FAMILIA: www.preparafamilia.org

Prepara Familia helps mothers and their children hospitalized at the largest children’s public hospital in Venezuela, J. M. De Los Rios. Due to the national economic crisis, this hospital lacks the most fundamental resources and services, and Prepara Familia provides theses families with medications, food and legal counseling. https://www.paypal.com/paypal…

• AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY: https://www.cancer.org/involv…

The mission of the American Cancer Society is to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer. With the help of millions of supporters, we launch breakthrough research, create empowering resources for people to outsmart cancer, enable local communities to support those affected, and convene powerful activists to create awareness and impact.

Please let us know in advance if you'd like to speak or share a memory of Hattie so that we may plan the schedule accordingly.

Hattie wished for her ashes to be laid to rest in the ocean at Point Lookout, NY. With that in mind, we are planning toward a funeral ceremony and celebration of Hattie's life in Point Lookout on Saturday, May 1. By May, the weather will be warm enough to allow us to gather comfortably outside and our hope is that we will be in a safer position by that point from a COVID perspective. We will certainly post more details once they are confirmed. [DATE AND TIME STILL TO BE CONFIRMED.]
