Harold's obituary
Harold Charles Proffitt Jr
04/11/1959-02/03/2026
"Jayare"
After a long, hard-fought battle with cancer, he passed away surrounded by love in his Palm Coast home late February 3rd. He was the strongest Marine and soldier we knew, not just because of his service, but because of the way he lived his life. He carried immense pride in serving his country, and that pride was matched only by the devotion he had to his family.
He was a provider to his core. Even while his body was failing him, his sense of responsibility never did. He continued working to support his family until just a few months before his passing.. A testament to his work ethic, resilience, and unwavering love for those who depended on him.
He was a husband, a father, a grandfather, a brother, and a steady presence. His love was consistent and dependable, the kind you could always count on. He showed up, even when it was hard.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lydia Proffitt; his daughter Jacqulin Proffitt and her husband Mark Gillespie; his son Kody Proffitt and his girlfriend Heather Dellinger; his son Jordan Proffitt and his girlfriend Ashley Lugo; and his daughter-in-law Sara Proffitt. Sister in law Rose Marie and husband Peter Browning and great friends John and Connie C
Kamp.
He is also survived by his brother Troy Proffitt and his wife Dawn Stanton, along with their children Corey, Max, and Diamond.
He was a proud and loving grandfather to Silas, Autumn, Aydin, Sebastian, Winter, Carter, Summer, Nolan, Adelynne, Liam, and Emma, each one holding a special place in his heart.
He is now being welcomed into Heaven by his beautiful grandson Alijah, his mother, Jacqueline, his father Harold, and his best friend Gerard, reunited in peace.
Those who knew him will always remember his familiar words — “Abracadabra,” “It was a pleasure and an honor,” — phrases that reflected his humor, humility, and respect for others. Most of all, he never failed to remind the people he loved how deeply they mattered to him.
"I love you, always have, always will."
Your strength lives on in all of us. It was truly a pleasure and an honor to love you.
