It was my pleasure to know Harold when we both worked at GSA. He was a smart guy with a great sense of humor. I also remember Harold as hitting the most focused/disciplined golf shot I have ever seen. We were playing Canyon West and Harold was 150 yards out. Just as he was about to start his swing a nearby fairway sprinkler head started to gurgle. Harold kept his swing going. It turned out that the first burst of water was aimed directly at Harold and just as he was hitting the golf ball the sprinkler blast caught him full in the chest! Harold kept his head down, finished his swing, and put the ball on the green! RIP Harold Hebert
Harold was my father in law, for 13 yrs. And I'm so sad to hear of his passing. My heart is with everyone
Harold was a wonderful man, friend, and mentor.  His wry sense of humor and smile will be missed.

I was sorry to hear of Harold's passing. I was a classmate of his at Carter Riverside (class of 1966). I was in several classes with Harold: smart man, always a gentleman. I read Bill Bird's memories, and they reminded me of the good times we all had together at Carter. My condolences to Harold's family.

My wife Pamela and I wish to express our sympathy to Harold's family.  I knew Harold since days at Oakhust Elementary and later at Carter-Riverside High where we were on the golf team together. I fondly remember riding with Harold often in his white '56 Ford. We kept in touch in college and Harold attended our wedding in Houston in August 1971.  We last communicated after Harold had retired from the GSA and was working at Benbrook Golf Course. We were saddened to hear of "Hebe's" passing from Paula Howell's CHS Class of '66 newsletter as we have lived in Upstate NY since 1983.
