Glen's obituary
Glen was a kind, compassionate and loving person to all. He always lit up the room with his bright smile and sense of humor. Even though he suffered his own demons, he was always there to help others with open arms and to lend a helping hand, never asking for anything in return.
He spent most of his free time working on vehicles or demolishing them. Glen was an avid Chevy fan and always chanted EZ WICKED. He was a real life stunt man and enjoyed high speed pursuits with his brother Derrik. Glen always threw the best garage parties when his sister Tanya came home from leave. He enjoyed tinkering on cars with his Dad and brother Chad and eating his favorite meal of lasagna with his Mom. He liked fishing, camping, and getting “ice creams” with his cousin Courtney. Glen’s proudest moments were of his son Brayden, who was the light of his life. He also leaves behind a daughter, Serenity who he missed a lifetime of memories with because of his addiction.
Glen is survived by long term girlfriend Monica, his son Brayden and daughter Serenity. He is also survived by his parents Larry and Penny, his siblings Derrik, Tanya, and Chad, grandparents, aunts and uncles, a host of cousins, and many close friends that played a very important role in his life.
The addiction not only stole Glen’s life, but it stole from each person who knew and loved him. It stole our hope, faith, and expectations of what was possible. It stole his future and all the things he still had left to do and see. It stole all of the memories we still had left to make. The disease of addiction is merciless and cannot be fought alone. It is up to us to open our minds and hearts to those who are suffering from a mental illness. If you yourself are struggling with addiction, know that every breath is a fresh start. Know that hundreds of thousands of families who have lost someone to this disease are praying and rooting for you.
