I am very sorry and my prayers go to the family in this time of loss. He will certainly be missed. Gil and I worked together at Walgreens and he was very knowledgeable about the technical environment we managed. He will certainly be missed. He enjoyed talking about politics and current events. i know he is blessed in his journey. My thoughts and prayers go with the family in their time of loss.
2012, Walgreens Corporate Campus, Lake Cook Road, Deerfield, IL, USA
I met Gil when I started working at Walgreens. He was this tall thin and quiet figure that was always working on something. He asked me a question once and that began a friendship that was always charged with intellectual talk, especially of politics. This usually is a taboo subject but he charged ahead with questions like "What do YOU think of Trump?" Always edgy and slightly provocative but only to poke at your thoughts. I told him also that my brother lives in Seoul and without missing a beat he asks "So what does he think of his neighbor to the North (Kim Jong Un)?" You could almost see the wheels spinning in his head! He thrived on and respected other persons opinions.
You would never guess Gil was 72 years old, When he talked he became so animated and this life just poured out from his passion. He was never dull and his quietness belied his great whit.
Lee, as we called him was no simple engineer. He was a part of an elite team of individuals that maintained Walgreens payment systems. These systems can never have downtime, no matter what. He was as cool as a cucumber. He understood perfectly his environment and where he fit in it as well as the gravity of the position. There are a lot of smart people in the world but it takes more than that to manage a system like that. Gil fit the bill perfectly.
I will certainly miss Gil, or better to say there will be something missing in the office - A slender and tall glint of light(ning?) That broke the doldrum of day to day work and reminded you, that you were a brilliant person too, never forget that.
May The Lord Jesus Bless his family God Bless Lawrence Lawson
Dear Lee Family, I am extremely sorry to know this sad news. My sincere prayers for the departed soul. May God bless the family and grant tones of support in this difficult situation. Gil was very kind, loving, and caring individual.
My deepest condolences to the entire family. I had the pleasure to work with Gil and even go out to lunch a couple times with him and he truly was a caring, sweet person. It was a joy to work with Gil. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I am thinking of you in these difficult times. May the Lord be with you.
I can empathize with you as I too lost my mother to stomach cancer this year.
Although I did not know your father Mina, you shared some of the challenges and moments of his courageous journey and I got a glimpse of what you all have been going through.
I’m not religious at all, but I can tell you, through this experience, I have been pulled into a spiritual awareness that wasn’t there before. Because I knew that’s how I could be close to my mother.
I hope that you find peace in knowing that your father IS in the place of love and with 0 pain and that he is with you, always.
