I am Gerryne's cousin.  We all of lost touch and it has been many years since I have seen Gerryne and the rest of that side of the family.  I stumbled across this obituary while researching my dad's family tree and wanted to send out my condolences.

I remember as a little kid being so in awe of her - she was always such a beauty and so very graceful....So very sorry to hear of her passing.  Sending love to her husband and the rest of the family.

I knew Gerryne in high school. Class of 1966. I always thought she was such a sweet girl. I'm sad to hear she is no longer with us. My condolences and prayers for the family. ❤️

I knew Gerryne in high school (Class of 66). Prayers for her and the extended family. I have fond memories of those days' past. Happy that she had a wonderful life,

TO: Scott Chapman and family.

I am so shocked to hear about Gerryne.

I’m Ted Scott from Thousand Oaks, CA. I am currently living in Oceanside, CA. near San Diego. I was friends with Gerryne and Marc while attending Ventura College, Ventura, CA, from 1967-1968. I knew her name as Gerry at that time.

I have always wondered the where-abouts of Gerry since Marc went missing while swimming on vacation in Hawaii. It was like she disappeared from the radar screen. I’ve always asked about Gerry at the several class reunions. A few days ago, I did a google search and found Gerry’s obituary. That was a very sad day for me. I was very disappointed was when I found out she was living in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, only a few hours from my house in Oceanside, CA. I wish I would have known her where-abouts sooner so I could have arranged a visit.

I thought I would share a few memories of Gerry.

While attending Thousand Oaks High School in 1966 as a senior, I was taking a study hall in the cafeteria near the front office. Gerry was getting extra credits working as a messenger for the front office passing notes to the teachers. There was a beautiful red headed girl who would always deliver the messages. Every day, I would always look forward to watching her.

I also saw Gerry and Marc driving around the parking lot at while attending the yearly Thousand Oaks ‘Conejo Days’ feasible. Marc had a hot car. His car was lifted high in the air with great MAG wheels. He had a souped-up Cadillac engine that sounded really cool. Again, I wondered, who is that red head girl.

I first met Gerry working at the Fox Conejo Theater in Thousand Oak, CA in 1967 along with Linda Gardner Lynch. Gerry and Linda were both cashiers. I was an usher. My fondest memory of Gerry was she was working the refreshment counter, and I was assisting. A customer came up to me and ordered a whole bunch of stuff. Our cash register was old and you had to add everything up in your head before making change. I was struggling adding everything up. Gerry knew I was struggling and came over by my side. I knew she knew what the total was but made me figure it out. I came up with the right total and finished the transaction. She was still standing by my side and gave me a nug on the shoulder and a big smile. That was all I need for the encouragement.

I also remember seeing Gerry driving down Thousand Oaks Blvd in the evening going to work. It was raining. As I pulled up beside her, I remember her small car with a poster from the theater of the Movie, ‘Doctor Zhivago’ in her back window. She really liked that movie.

While attending Ventura College; Gerry, Marc, Margret Ford, Dan Sperrow and myself were in a carpool together. I remember we would stop by a fountain drink store at a mall on the way home. We would order a Hercules Flip fountain drink. We had good conversations and always laughing a lot.

Marc was really into cars and occasionally we would stop by a car dealership and price all the new cars. I remember Gerry would always talk about the 240 Mazda Z she wanted. She called it the ‘Z’.

I was dating Pattie Bouey Archer from thousand Oaks High School. Patty had rented an appartement while I was attending my last year of college. Gerry and Patty were good friends from high school. I remember Gerry stopping by a few times to say hello. We would sit around and only talk for a few minutes.

I remember Gerry was discovered by a modeling agency. They took hundreds of pictures. She showed them to me. They were great. I’m not sure of what happened to that opportunity.

Marc and I took the Arm Forces test together before enlisting in the military. I went into the Air Force and Marc became a crew member on a Coast Guard rescue helicopter.

Gerry work for a telephone company as a Switchboard operator while I was attending school in the Air Force at Lowery AFB, CO in March 1969. I remember Gerry would connect Patty and I together to talk for a few minutes at a reduced rate. That was very special to do for us.

I remember attending Gerry and Marc wedding reception at Marcs parent’s house. It was very extravagant, and Gerry looked very beautiful. I think I had just returned from Okinawa, Japan on my way to FE Warren AFB in Cheyenne, WY.

Patty and I got married and later bought a Condo in Thousand Oaks in 1975. It was in the same neighborhood as Gerry and Marc’s Condo. I remember Gerry and Marc coming over to visit a few times. We would only chat for a few minutes. They later bought a home nearby and moved.

I know Gerry became an Airline Stewardess for American airlines. I just can’t remember when. I think I remember there were America Airline Stews at her wedding reception with Marc.

I will always remember Gerry as a good friend and a remarkable beautiful girl.

A nickname I came up with for Gigi was "The Keeper of the Courtesies". She was unfailingly courteous and polite. I've never known anyone who lived out the Golden Rule like she did. She liked the nickname.

Gigi's flight attendant "second family" at LAX referred to her as the "Number One Number Four". Number Four was the Business Class Galley Chef. She was the best! She loved her job (though not American Airlines). Retiring early was difficult for her and took a long time to get used to.
So sorry to hear that my cousin Gerryne has passed away. So many fond memories of her when growing up. And when she came to visit. I still remember how sad I was when she and the rest of the family moved away to California. I had wanted to go with them. All my love to you Gerryne.
