Personal note from Kate Emory

It is with profound sorrow that we gather to honor the life of Geraldine "Gee Gee" Emory, who left us peacefully on February 18, 2025. Born in 1936, Geraldine, or Gee Gee as she was affectionately known, was a beacon of light and love to all who were blessed to know her. Her radiant personality and legacy of kindness will always be cherished, especially by her surviving granddaughter, Kate Emory.
Geraldine's joyous spirit and infectious cheerfulness were truly one of a kind. As a woman of grace, strength, and unwavering faith, she was deeply loving, kind, and generous in every aspect of her life. Gee Gee had a way of imparting wisdom through her words and actions—teaching her loved ones how to carry themselves with poise, lean on God during challenging times, practice patience and tolerance, and most importantly, love and appreciate those around them.
Her dedication to her passions and pursuits inspired everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. She was an accomplished businesswoman, successfully running a cherished bed and breakfast in Carmel and the delightful Sugar & Spice candy shop in Orinda. A devoted Christian, she shared a beautiful life with her husband, De Emory, raising two daughters and later helping to nurture and guide her beloved granddaughter in Orinda, California.
Geraldine also took immense pride in her Swedish heritage and genealogy. Her identity as a Bay Area native, avid reader, exceptional cook, and formidable card player reflected her love for the simple yet meaningful joys of life. She brought her unique charm and presence to every endeavor, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Her legacy transcends her individual accomplishments, serving as a testament to her boundless kindness and generosity. Geraldine was living proof of the remarkable impact one woman can have, shaping and influencing the lives of three generations of women who carry her spirit forward.
Though the world has lost a beautiful soul, her memory lives on in the lives she touched. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate her incredible journey—a life marked by love, laughter, and endless blessings. While Gee Gee may have left her earthly home, her spirit continues to sprinkle a dash of her signature "Sugar & Spice" into all of our lives.
