Jerry's obituary
Jerry and Alice moved to Oxnard, California and were married on December 2, 1967. They settled in the City of Newbury Park. Soon after he began working for the City of Thousand Oaks. He retired from the city after 20 years of service. Jerry moved on to his next venture and proceeded to open a family restaurant, The Fresh Catch, in 1991 where he enjoyed many years working with his family and making new friends in the community. After 34 loving years Jerry lost his best friend Alice in death. He decided at that time to move to Oakhurst, California in 2001 since he had always loved the mountains.
Jerry was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on April 27, 2003. He spent his time helping the congregation in whatever capacity he could which included serving as a ministerial servant for some time and regularly conducting service meetings. As a faithful publisher he enjoyed his ministry and sharing Bible truths with those he met.
Jerry enjoyed the outdoors and made it a point to regularly engage in outside activities. He loved to go camping and fishing. He also enjoyed his card games and many dinners with his “Gezer Club”. When indoors you could often find him next to a fire working on a puzzle. Another thing dear to his heart was his dogs. Wherever you found Jerry you could be sure to find a dog close behind.
Jerry loved spending time with his family over the years. He and Alice had five children, Robert, Curtis, Christine and her husband Scott, Marie and her husband Brad, and Nicole and her husband Allen. They also had seven grandchildren, Chelsea, Gavin, Lauren, Drew, Taylor, Natalie, and Piper. Watching the kids play and ride bikes always put a smile on his face and warmed his heart.
May we all find comfort in knowing that Jerry is safe in Jehovah’s memory. We are thankful for the many blessings Jehovah has granted us including the hope that Jerry shared which includes the Bible’s promise of a resurrection day when we will welcome him back to a perfect life in paradise.
“And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, And death will be no more, neither will mourning, Nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Rev 21:4
