25 years ago within a few weeks of starting at Shippensburg University I met Jason and Andy who very quickly became my best friends. I was their unofficial 3rd roommate even having my name on the answering machine as I spent far more time in their room than my own. In my sophomore year, Andy moved off campus and Jason and I were orientation leaders. We decided to throw a big welcome party for the students we met and Andy’s house became the go to place to party and have fun. Shippensburg was a time when I really broke out of my shell and made the very best of friends and Andy was such a big part of that experience.
When I moved to VA in 2012 I was thrilled when Erin, Jason, Andy and Kelly were all close by and we could spend time together reunited. Andy was always my friend who introduced me to weird fun things and invited me to have all sorts of adventures. From racing in the Warrior Dash, to seeing Mac Sabbath- a Black Sabbath cover band where the musicians dressed as McDonald’s characters. He introduced me to his DC and Maryland where we had so many fun times. He was always my go to for new, different and unique tv and movies where we could talk for hours about what we liked and didn’t. Whether it was going for a hike, attending a protest or going to a concert, it was always a good time.
Andy had an enormous heart and fought consistently for the rights of others. He was passionate about social justice and human rights and this showed in his every interaction and how he lived his life. While I’m not great at keeping in touch, Andy was a friend who would always show up and be there for all those in his life. A tireless advocate, incredible friend and humble, creative and beautiful soul.
I’m so very sad and have so much I wish I would have said to him to show him how much he means to me. I love you Andy ❤️

Andrew and I shared so many incredible memories that I feel blessed to have. He was my favorite karaoke partner. We went to several concerts together and he took me to my first comedy show. We loved sharing meals together. He got me to try oysters for the first time. He was so much fun to be around. He made me feel free in a way I didn't with anyone else. I loved his passion for life. There were so many things we wanted to do together. He showed up for me in a way that few did. At one of the concerts we went to, I watched him mosh in the pit with just pure joy on his face and it was infectious. I miss his voice, his hugs, his smile.

Always a rockstar. Music was such a big part of who Andrew was, whether it was singing karaoke at one of his parties, going to see live music, or playing his guitars. He loved music.
