I am so sad I was unable to be at my dad’s memorial yesterday due to an accident I had. Fortunately my dear friend Iva FaceTime d with me so I was able to see much of it. My heart was deeply touched by everyone there. So many touching stories and memories, the video my daughter Casey created and the contributions from so many, made it an incredible day. I am so grateful to so many! A huge Thank You to the folks at the Bay Model for the wonderful space! Thank you to Christine for the food. Another huge Thank You to Michael Seresco for many things he did to make the day happen. Lastly, I want to thank my daughter, Casey who did all the organizing, calling, shopping, and producing of the video and website. Her grandpa was always so proud of her and I am too!

I'm unable to attend next weekend but wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed my years knowing Gene. I was his fitness instructor at Body Kinetics. He was the only male student and our group of 30+ students all adored Gene. We enjoyed gathering outside of class to spend time together. I remember fondly the time a group of us went to see Gene perform. I also remember going to see his work on the ship! He was kind, loving and committed to his health and fitness wellness. Moving to online classes was hard for Gene and I really missed seeing him several times each week in my classes. Grateful for our time together!

I was so sorry to hear about Gene's passing. He was such a light in this world with a hilarious sense of humor! I will never forget going roller skating with you to practice our number for our dance troupe, The Don't Quit Your Day Job Dancers. What fun we had! Rest easy my friend, and I hope to "see" you around!
Love,
Debi Thiel

Geno was never a contendah. He was always The Champ!

I had the pleasure of working along side Gene as a volunteer on the tallship Matthew Turner. His generosity in sharing his skills no matter the task was greatly appreciated. When we both discovered our musical talents, it happily increased our conversations revolving around singing and dancing. I’ll never forget watching this carpenter dance around the stage in a festive costume.
Rest in Peace, my friend. You were the epitome of a gentleman in my world.

When I retired from day teaching, I loved to tell people that my replacement was only 12 years older than me. Gene shared the Wood Shop with me - he days & I nights until he'd finally had enough and he became a "boat builder"! Good times!!
