ALEXANDER----Garland "Truman" Alexander, age 87 of Jacksonville, FL passed away April 7, 2013. He was born January 14, 1926 in Lyons, GA to Carlos Alexander, Sr. and Julia Underwood Alexander. Truman served in the U.S. Navy for 2 years, and later retired from the U.S. Air National Guard with 32 years of distinguished and decorated service. He later retired from Civil Service at NARF. Funeral services in celebration of his life will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday April 11, 2013 in the chapel of Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park with Rev. Roger Stark of Grace Church of Avondale officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Garden of Everlasting Life at Jacksonville Memory Gardens. Family members will greet friends from 1:30 PM until the hour of service on Thursday afternoon at the funeral home.
