Fran showed us how much a kind heart can change lives. Seeing how he cared for others reminds me that love is what truly lasts. I’m holding Johana and the whole family in my heart as we remember the beautiful mark he left on all of us.

Fran was remarkable for many reasons, but the words that come to mind this morning are "charisma" and "heart". Fran's charisma was legendary. He could work and cajole a person, a room, or an organization to push his agenda forward like very few I've ever seen. At the same time, he led with his heart. He loved and he cared about people more than most. The world is a sadder place without him. I will not forget his smile, or his laughter.

A remembrance: Fran and I were in a conference room listening to a Dwight Riskey presentation on "share of stomach". The basic idea was that Frito-Lay was scheming to increase their share of stomach, especially with children. After the presentation, Fran turned to me and said "kids should be eating more fruits and vegetables, not more salty snacks". And that was Fran. He cared about what he did and who he was affecting.

I'm sorry that we drifted apart over the last decade. I'm certain that I'm worse for it. My condolences for Johanna, Valentina, Catalina, and the rest of his family.

Johanna and Garcia family.  I am so sorry that Fran passed away.  I worked with Fran at Komodo for several years.  I spent many days getting to know him.   I really enjoyed listening to him about stories of his family life and past work successes.  We got to go to Missouri together for a Komodo event.  It was a blast hanging out with him and Shawn.  When Jack sent out that he passed really hit me hard. I kept picturing his family at his bedside in his final moments.  I will miss him and will be at his service on 11/21.  Let me know if there is anything I can do for you.  Much Love Cameron Lazzari
