Floyd Philip "Phil" McIntyre, a cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, peacefully entered eternal rest on November 20, 2024, in Colbert, Georgia, at the age of 92. Born on July 21, 1932, in Clarkesville, Georgia, Phil was the beloved son of Floyd and Leila McIntyre.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Anthony and Larry, his devoted wife, Joy, his daughter, Cindy and his granddaughter, Taylor. He is survived by his loving children: Steven McIntyre (Shirley), Gwen Crowe (Brian), Shannon Spisak (Mark), and Brandi Flanagan. He also leaves behind his sisters, Donna Simmons, Pam Little, and Sheri Black, along with 18 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.
A man of profound faith, Phil was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His spiritual journey was a guiding light in his life, providing him with strength and peace. Phil's love for fishing, hunting, camping, and writing enriched his days, but his greatest joy was the time spent with his family.
Known by his stage name, Curly McIntyre, Phil was a talented gospel and country music singer. His passion for music led him to record multiple songs in Nashville, leaving a lasting legacy in the hearts of those who heard his soulful voice.
A memorial service to honor Phil's life will be held on December 28, 2024, at 1 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1156 Willie Black Rd, Elberton, GA 30635. Phil's family invites all who knew him to join in celebrating a life well-lived and a man deeply loved, now at peace in the presence of the Lord.
