Every year my Grandma had us over to decorate christmas cookies. I am the sister with the least artistic talent (Darby would spend 4x the effort on each cookie I would work on). Every single year my Grandpa would evaluate all of our work and crown one of mine as the best. He was a loyal supporter.

I brought my boyfriend to meet my grandparents in their home in Davenport, FL in 2024. Grandpa pulled out all the stops - he went and plucked oranges from trees in the backyard and got to work making orange juice. I had never seen that happen before.
