My thoughts are with you all on the anniversary of his passing.  We miss him, remember him fondly and think of him often. Blessings.
It has been wonderful getting to know your family over the last 10 years. I am so lucky to be able to work with you, Tanya. Your friendship means so much to me! Adnan will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. We enjoyed hanging out with you guys, when you weren't busy out seeing the world. Much love to your family!

So sorry to hear about this and deepest condolences to all family and friends.  As a U.S. Drought Monitor author, it was always great to hear this:  "Brad, your draft 1 looks good for North Dakota."  In fact, that was the last email I received from Adnan, on May 23, 2023.  He's gone too soon, but it's wonderful to read these remembrances and see all the lives he touched in such a positive way.
My deepest sympathy to Adnan's family. I met Adnan almost 20 years ago when he worked with us at NWS and we worked closely again when he volunteered as our AASC partner to host our annual climate meeting in ND back in 2018. I always told him he was one of the best co-hosts we've ever had - he had such enthusiasm and excitement,  and showcased his pride of ND to our climate community- he  put on a wonderful meeting with amazing field trips that showcased Fargo climate and ag. He was always a ray of sunshine, smiling from ear to ear and he will be missed dearly.   Rest in peace, my friend.
Adnan, you’re a gift. We are so grateful to have you in our lives, and we will never forget you.  Rest in peace.

I met Adnan at your wedding reception in Hamel.  Your first dance was to, Power of Love, by Celine Dion.  ( I always think of you two when I hear that song)  Tanya told me he picked it out.  I could see how much you loved each other then , and through all the years of your adventures as I  followed you on Facebook.   My heart hurts for you.  I am sending my love to you all.

I was lucky enough to be a student of Adnan’s back in 2019. I knew right away that his class would be my favorite despite me being a theater major and taking the class for fun. Adnan’s energy during every single class was so positive, caring, and educational, you could truly feel how much he cared about what he did and how he did it. Every class was so much fun, and he helped me build the confidence to speak up with answers in class despite being the youngest there. I’ll never forget the way he smiled at me when I’d participate or thank him after class. It was so inspirational for me, and it sparked a new passion for environmental that has continued with me postgrad, even as a Film and Media Production major in Arizona. I will never forget his class, his passion for the weather, or the kindness that radiated out of him every single day. I am so sorry to his family for such a loss, and I am sending so much love and peace to all of you.

He called me Pink Floyd after finding out I liked them. My textbook was acting up one day in class and he offered to go to IT with me which was way across campus. We walked together and chatted about music and his course. I remember telling my mom about how kind it was of him to come with me. I am not majoring or minoring in anything relating to weather but he was so knowledgable and this is a course I will always remember, led by a man who was so terrific. I switched over my playlist I was studying to, to Dark Side of the Moon writing this. Great Gig In The Sky for you, Adnan.
Adnan was the most friendly and enthusiastic person I know. We most frequently talked at the Wellness center when we were exercising. He as an exemplar of healthy living, I am sorry that he left us so soon.
At an AASC meeting. I never met anyone with more enthusiasm for everything he was involved in. He lit up every room he walked into.
In response to "How did you first meet Adnan?"
Adnan's passing was a shock to me at the beginning of the New Year. I miss his smiling face, friendly voice and scientific advice that he provided to us at the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). May his soul rest in peace.
My condolences and prayers to Adnan's family. I was fortunate enough to interview Adnan multiple times during my days at The Dickinson Press. He quickly became our go-to guy for any weather-related topic, simply because of the way he was able to succinctly explain the weather and do so in a fun and interesting way. I also had the pleasure of listening to him speak at events we'd host when I was at the North Dakota Department of Agriculture. He was one of those people who everyone will remember as having the pleasure to have met.
I am so very sorry to hear of Adnan’s passing.  My sincerest sympathy goes out to Tanya and your children.  I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

I’m so incredibly sorry to hear that Adnan passed away. I met Adnan in 2013 while doing my postdoc at NDSU. He was a helpful and great friend. Rest in peace

Adnan ile 2013 yılnda NDSU'da post doc yaparken tanıştım. Kendisi yardım sever, cana yakın bir bilim insanıydı. Mekanı cennet olsun.

Tanya, Evren, Esena and the rest of Adnan's family,

I was so blessed to get the opportunity to know Adnan.  I can remember the first time Tanya talked about this great guy she meet at college, and one New Years Eve, Tanya made a wish at midnight which I assumed had to something to do with Adnan.  I loved getting to visit Tanya and him in Turkey and serve as a tour guide for a bunch of crazy Americans (LOL).  My Dad was so excited when Adnan wanted to see a snapping turkey being butchered.  His love for learning, energy and overall interest in everyone and everything are all things I admired.  When I spoke with him, he truly made you feel important.

Deepest sympathy

I’m so incredibly sorry to hear that Adnan passed away. While attending NDSU, I worked at the Wellness Center Rec Desk where I very frequently got to see Adnan because he was climbing the rock wall. I also the took his class on climate. His personality was infectious and you felt better as a person just having been in his presence. Please know that I send my deepest and most sincere condolences to Adnan’s family and friends. He was a tremendous human and professor!
Heartbroken to hear about the loss of Dr. Akyuz. He was one of the best teachers I've ever known. His passion and enthusiasm was infectious. He was always so kind-hearted and truly loved what he did, as much as the students he taught. He will be dearly missed!
Those of us in the NDSU School of Natural Resource Sciences extend our deepest condolences to Adnan's family and loved ones. He was a beloved colleague, teacher, and friend.
My condolences to the family. I loved his weather updates with the NDSU Extension professionals. You could hear his passion for his work in his updates. His work was impactful and made a positive difference in the lives of others. His smile and energy were infectious and a blessing to those around him.
