Faamuamua Gago (63), beloved mother and wife, passed away on December 27th, 2025, in Fairfield, CA.

"Mua" was born on the island of Western Samoa in 1962. She spent her childhood and teenage years living on her family's beautiful island acreage, learning the ways of her people and the land. She became a mother early in life, sparking a personality trait that she would soon be known widely for: being a loving and committed caretaker.

Mua came stateside on the heels of love after meeting an American helicopter mechanic who swept her off her feet. In the USA, she dedicated her years to making those around her understand joy, happiness, kindness, and warmth - working as a caretaker or sales associate, while tending to her sons when custody would allow, going to church, and cultivating meaningful romantic and platonic relationships as often as she could. She would proudly and continually speak about her ever-expanding Samoan family; discovering a new cousin or niece was one of her favorite pastimes.

For years, she led a life of love and compassion, committing herself fully to her partners/husbands, her children, her friendships, her grandchildren, and Samoan culture. Mua loved the thrill and camaraderie of placing a bet, good or bad, as evidenced by the years of loose bingo markers, in a variety of colors, trickling out of her handbag after she’d had a good laugh. Her spirit was stronger than most and an inspiration to those around her. Her acceptance knew no judgment. She gave her whole heart to anything and anyone she was a part of, for better or worse, and taught us all how to move with passion in our choices.

Mua is preceded in death by her parents, Senileva Gago and Gago Gago. She is survived by her son Jeffrey Wright, son Alan Wright, daughter Julie McCormick, daughter Elsie Fruean, spouse Kyle Kazemba, and grandchildren.

A memorial and remembrance will be held at 2pm on Sunday, February 22nd, 2026, at The Four Star Theater in San Francisco, CA, at 2200 Clement Street.
