Rett was an amazing, unforgettable person, truly an inspiration. I feel honored to have known him during the early years of Chase and Zach, when he was with Lisa. I am glad he continued to find love in his life--how could he not, given his kind soul. May he be in his "perfect body" in his eternal home in heaven.

Rhett worked literally by my side for years at Sonoma National Bank. He was patient, fun, intelligent beyond his years, kind and generous in all ways. We shared lunches and life stories. Sadly, we list touch in recent years. But, Rhett shaped me in ways hard to explain. May he rest in peace. He deserves to run free again. Bless his sweet soul. May his beautiful sons, friends and Grandsons find peace and blessings during this hard time.

I can’t wrap my head around the fact you are not at 1010 Bush Street. I wanted to go there recently just to feel your presence again. To watch a movie with you, drink an IPA (you did love a local IPA), talk about the crazy state of the world then maybe have a cookie. I was always amazed at your knowledge of just about everything. Rett was a kind beautiful soul who lived his life to the fullest through good and bad times. I was so lucky to have had you in my life. I will miss you terribly. Rest in peace my friend.

Rett was a true inspiration, a great boss and friend. He was always happy to share his wealth of knowledge of real estate appraising. I really enjoyed our conversations and shared Taco Bell lunches. Rest in peace, Rett.

We enjoyed many a Camp Out with our extended family, centered around Rett, Glen, Tina, PT, on and on so many dear friends. They were the gravitational center that we seemed to orbit. Somehow we always made it work, we were fearless and confident. We were always happy hanging out.Rett was the officiant at the first Camp Out (Glen and Tina's wedding night). He conducted the ceremony for my second marriage years later. The Camp Outs lasted for decades after, and are an enduring joyful memory to me. I also remember Rett's birthday bashes at Bush Street. The biggest had lechon (spit roasted pig). We ate, and drank, and laughed, and loved each other. When I think of Rett, it will always be the love he brought to my life. I am so grateful to have shared life with him. Rest in peace my brother!

Rett was family. As a kid, I squeezed next to Rett's chair and rode the lift up into the van. I sat on the bench (no seat belt) and watched the road zoom by through the open drivers-side door. I’ve only known a world with Rett in it. It’s almost inconceivable to me that he’s gone. He exuded confidence, calm and an effortless charisma that welcomed even the most introverted.
I’m damn lucky to have a trove of zany childhood adventures with Rett that are like scaffolding for the adult I am. I think of Rett and he’s sea air and colored light and sardines. His house was always filled with art and music and interesting people…a weigh station that Bohemia passed through…the gravitational center. He was such an inspiration that I’ve long imagined his home to be what I hope to create for myself.
If the world feels out-of-whack it’s because we’ve been set a-drift without a Rett.

Rett was a big presence on the street for me and my siblings. I haven’t lived on the street in 15+ years but he was a solid and genuine person that never hesitated to say hi and ask how you were doing, even as just a passer bye. He loved to be outside and loved having small but deep conversations with passersby. I miss him and wish him and all his loved ones peace

I am a long-time family friend of the Ericksons and very saddened to hear about the death of Rett. He was such a good person.
