On behalf of my sisters, and my nieces and nephews, my sincere thanks to each and everyone of you for your kind words and your expressions of sympathy. Mommy was small in stature, but she was an undefeated giant in the way she commanded and executed her purpose on this earth. Yes, a huge part of our lives is gone, but we hold her very dear in our hearts and know that she will remain there forever.

So, thank you all for the memories, and for all your thoughts and prayers.

Our beloved mother Evelyn Manning (nee Blagrove) was born on March 12, 1943, in St. Toolies, Manchester, to Ruth and Adrian Blagrove (both predeceased). She passed away peacefully on April 1, 2022, at age 79.

Evelyn “Mamzie” attended Shortwood Teacher’s College in Kingston, Jamaica, and started her career as an educator in 1962, at the age of 19 at the Porus Primary School. She then moved on to Toll Gate All Age School where …
