Mr. Evan Mitchell “Mickey” Phillips, age 81, of Soperton died Thursday, June 18, 2015.

Mr. Phillips was a lifelong resident of Treutlen County and was preceded in death by his parents, Carlton Phillips, Sr. and Alma Williamson Phillips, brother, Carlton Phillips, Jr., sister, Virginia Moxley, niece, Carolyn Burch, and nephew, Robert Moxley. He was a farmer and a member of Harmony Baptist Church, Treutlen County.

Survivors include his sister, Latha Tyson of Forsyth; niece, Lynn (John) Clark of Forsyth; nephew, Harry Burch of Savannah; and two great-nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 22, in Boiling Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Treutlen County, with the Reverend Glis Cribb officiating. The family will receive friends at Sammons Funeral Home Monday from 10 – 10:30 a.m.
