Eugene's obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Eugene McCarthy on April 15, 2023.
Born in Carbonear, NL in 1931, "Junior" was always on the move and lived life to the fullest. He spent his early years in Gearyville working as a taxi driver and playing hockey for the Corner Brook Royals before moving to North Plainfield, New Jersey in the 60s. He returned to Newfoundland and operated his own business for over 21 years until his retirement. After retirement he spent many happy years in Sheppardville before moving to St. John's and then finally at the age of 91 moving to Thompson, Manitoba.
Junior loved to paint and was a very talented watercolor artist. He was a regular at many of the local craft fairs selling his paintings.
Eugene was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Mary and son Roary. Eugene is survived by his daughter, Mary (Mark), sons Father Joseph Delaney, Reginald (Daphne), George (Geraldine), John, Michael and Eugene (Cindy) and a large circle of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
