Another year of missing you and your calls as we shared our hunting stories. Remember when we went gator hunting? Since you were the "visitor", I let you go first. Within 20 minutes, you had a 12 foot gator! I hunted for years to find one bigger but, it just wasn't meant to be. Do I earn a brownie point for that????? Big hugs to you in Heaven!

Gene has been so heavy on my mind. I sure do miss him! We always made it a point to exchange gifts on birthdays and Christmas. He made me a birdhouse years ago and I have it attached to a tree. He made me a walking stick. I keep it in my room. Because I was the "1,000,000th customer", he bought me a fringed jacket which I enjoy whenever I travel to SCI. I have always cherished these but more so because it keeps the memories alive and him close to my heart...Gene, I am sure the Happy Hunting Grounds above are treating you well but, we sure do miss you down here.......

Grandpa Gene could never give enough, especially when it came to his family. He was so generous with his time, his company, and his stories. I don’t think I know a person that Gene had met and not invited to stay at his house or fish with him on the river.
He was so impressive in his craftsmanship and attention to detail. So meticulous when it came to his spectacular collections gained from a lifetime of adventuring.
The best part about Gene though, was his genuine kindness and affect. Not shy about joining in laughter or lending his own teases and merriment, it was so easy to see his warmth.
Gene, G-Pa, you will be sorely missed by all of us, even those of us that only were fortunate enough to share a small slice of your life with. Rest In Peace with the knowledge that you’ll carry on in our cherished memories, be held tightly in our hearts, and be celebrated in our stories - we are forever grateful that you helped shape our human experience.
