I am so sorry for your loss. Death is enemy an to all of mankind. God promises that soon he will rid us of death. (1 Corinthians 15:26) Acts 24:15 tells us there will be a resurrection. God will reverse the effects of death by bringing our loved ones back to life. Please hold this promise close to your heart and may it give you comfort and strength to endure.

When I first met Eric, I was an incoming general manager at a Korean BBQ and he had been sent from the corporate office to come install the safe in our manager's office. Since I was fairly new, I remember the staff acted somewhat frantically when he arrived as if panicked that he was from the corporate office as they tried to act more appropriately in his presence. Yet, when I first began to speak with him, it was nothing like the typical belittling tone that maybe some would've expected and his demeanor and tone was friendly and non-threatening, it was simply, professional. But what I remember most that day was that when he had asked me to come outside to help load some things into his car, and with his trunk opened, I noticed he had a couple of unopened Japanese brand air freshener in his trunk. These weren’t just any normal car air freshener either, at the time and maybe even still today, they’re not ones you see many people using and are somewhat of a car enthusiast’s brand (or back in the day, a “rice rocket” owner’s brand) that was not only quite expensive for a car air freshener but also one that you could only find at select Japanese retailers (this was before online ordering was a thing). Nonetheless, when I pointed out how it’s rare to see people using that brand, he immediately offered it to me as a gift and told me I could have it. “Here, take it,” he said. I was shocked and felt like I couldn't possibly take this gift from someone I had barely known, especially knowing their value. But he very casually insisted and told me, “Don’t worry, I know a guy.” I'll never forget how kind-hearted he was day to me and from that day, we would always joke about how he always ‘had a guy’ for everything.
