Emily must have been about 4 or 5 years old. We were walking down the street in New York City on our way to the athletic club for dinner. Emily spotted pigeons and said those were her most favorite bird on the planet because they were so colorful. It still puts a smile on my face every time I see a pigeon.
My second favorite memory of Em is all the beach days at the Cape. She had so much fun playing on the beach, swimming in the freezing cold water, and going up to the grill at Craigsville Beach for lunch.
Emily was an amazing babysitter for Sloane and Casey. She gave the best hugs and they always looked forward to when she was coming over to watch them. One of their favorite things to do was to swing on the hammock with her.
I will never forget her laugh and her facial expressions that always made me crack up laughing. Even when she was so sick she still always was willing to help others and brighten the mood. We are so blessed to have had 28 amazing years with her.

Emily, I am heartbroken to hear the news of your passing. There were so many times growing up, especially during field hockey in high school and hanging out together during NCL, that you would make me laugh until I had tears in my eyes. May your spirit, light, and strength live on through everyone you touched. Sending prayers to your family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Rest peacefully angel. <3

My heart is very broken to hear this news. Emily and I were together as room mates at HW. She was such a strong, sweet, kind, giving woman. We used to lay in bed at night and yell across the privacy wall and share stories. When I left I gave her this Angel figurine to hold on to. We have a new Angel now. Love you Emily❤️

I lived with Emily while we went to the University of Arizona. I don’t think I have ever seen such a pure source of love and empathy quite like hers. Truly, I think I got to befriend an angel on this earth while she was here. We had so many fun memories together, especially with our dogs, Simon and Lila. We had so many good laughs too- nearly every single day. When I was upset she was always there with a hug, a shoulder to cry on, just telling me she loved me, or even acts of kindness like making me a grilled cheese. I will always cherish the time we spent together and the memories we had. Much love and God bless
