2020, Atherton, CA, USA
Emily was living in NY and training for a marathon when covid struck. With marathons cancelled, Emily returned home and she with her family organized a personal 26.2 mile local marathon route so she could run her marathon for her birthday. I with several others kept Emily company by running with her and following along in our “pace car”.  She was so happy and proud to complete her goal despite the obstacles put in her way.  I will always remember the smile she had that day. We love you Emily.
Prayers of peace, comfort and love shared with Emily's family and friends.  May God's perfect grace and love be sufficient to see you through this time.

Dear Crowder Family,

My deep feelings and prayers are ongoing for all of you.  You are a  loving and strong family .   A standard for all of us.  Add my name to those who loved Emily.   May God's river of love carry you through these  hard days.

My love,

Kathryn Stamey

O sweet Emmy Sue how I love you!!!

From getting up early before school and taking you to harp or piano lessons to picking you up after school and taking you to soccer practice!

Talking about and listening to music and answering all your many questions and teaching you about all the different genres of music we would listen to on our drive!

To the stinky hermit crabs and bird eating cats that you loved so very much!

To the “Hello Dolly” musical we got to do together and Santa Cruz fun days, or party weekends when mom and dad were out of town.

To sleepovers at my apartment and helping you move into your college dorm room! I love you so so much!!

These are just a few of the memories of you that have been flooding my mind the last few days but the memories I hold the most dear and always will is when I got the privilege to tell you that I loved you to the moon and back as I put you to bed and your response was always that you loved me haystacks and haystacks and haystacks!

Where this came from neither of us ever remembered but it became our thing and I love it!!

Now more than ever miss Emmy Sue I love you way past the moon and back and I will always remember you always haystacks and haystacks!

I remember Emily and her family coming to visit me and my family while we lived in Switzerland. We had so much fun playing and exploring together.

Alisyn, Dave, Matt, Sam and E…
New York, NY, USA
Alisyn, Dave, Matt, Sam and Eliza- our hearts are aching for you  and we are by your side as you grieve and honor sweet Emily.  What a privilege it has been to  know  and love and be loved by Emily.  Her curiosity,   her devotion to each of you, her joy with Clayton, Vivian and the knowledge that Henry was coming, her creativity  and  most of all her strength and honesty in the face of the darkest challenges made her one of my most impactful teachers.   We walked, cried, played games, did crafts , disagreed, brainstormed, and loved.   She was patient with my inability to take a selfie , do a yoga pose, or figure out makeup. We talked about really hard things and we laughed.  I will always  miss  her and I’m comforted she is at peace.
