Eloise's obituary

Acton, MA: Eloise C. (Odom) Pronko, 96, of Acton, MA, former longtime resident of Maynard, MA, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, December 26, 2017.

She leaves her loving husband of 72 years, Peter Pronko of Acton along with her two sons, Peter J. Pronko III and wife Andrea of Maynard and James E. Pronko and wife Janice of Holliston. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, Joy King, Peter Pronko IV, Kristen Quillin, Eric Pronko, and Caitlyn Pronko; 8 great grandchildren, Faith King, Julia King, Gerard King IV, Peter Pronko V, Tazianna Pronko, Connor Pronko, Patrick Pronko, and David James Pronko; her 3 sisters, Anne Bruce Hutcheson of Evans, Georgia, Lillie Powell of Soperton, Georgia, Gail Willis of Soperton, Georgia and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her 4 brothers, Dwight, Ward, James Eddie and Felix Odom.

Eloise was born in Soperton, Georgia, daughter of the late James E. and Eugenia (Gillis) Odom, and step mother, Mary Odom. She resided in Maynard for many years prior to moving to Acton for the past couple years. She was a longtime employee of the Raytheon Company retiring after 33 years. She was a member of St. Bridget’s Parish and the Ladies Sodality in Maynard. Upon retiring, Eloise and Peter appreciated traveling to different countries, and later spending their winters in Clearwater, Florida. Eloise enjoyed gardening, surrounding her yard with various types of roses. She also cherished spending time with her family and showed her adoration for them through her cooking. Everyone always knew that when they visited with Eloise they would never leave without a full stomach and good conversation. She truly loved spending time with her grandchildren and later her great grandchildren. She leaves a legacy of love and devotion and beautiful memories of a warm and kind soul for all who loved and knew her to cherish.

Due to expected poor weather conditions on Thursday, relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Wednesday January 3rd, 2018 from 5:00-7:00pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton. The funeral Mass will be celebrated as planned on Friday January 5th, 2018 at 10:00am in St. Bridget's Church, 1 Percival Street, Maynard. Urn interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Great Road, (Rte 117) Maynard.
