Personal note from Ellen's Family

We've created this site for friends and family to celebrate and reminisce about Ellen's life, and to add your comments, memories, or upload photos (under "memories and condolences" below).

Everyone is invited to an informal memorial celebration of Ellen's life in Brewster during the first weekend in May (details below). Please let us know if you plan to attend through the RSVP link.

Obituary

Ellen St. Sure died on the morning of July 8th, 2019. She was born in Oakland, California, graduated from Bennington College, served as the editor of the Hudson Review, raised a family and worked as a journalist for the Jerusalem Post in Israel, before returning to the San Francisco Bay area with her three children, obtaining a PhD in English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley, and later becoming an adjunct professor of English …
