2007, Jim and Beth's Wedding, Tucson, AZ
Beth's dad (Skip) worked really hard to be able to briefly get out of his wheel chair to stand and dance with his daughter on her wedding day. Skip had Multiple Sclerosis since Beth was a teenager. You can see Beth's Cheshire Cat tattoo on her shoulder.

My heart is 💔💔💔. Jim, Teagan and Rhys - my heart, thoughts and prayers go got to you all every since I learned about Beth. And to all her family and friends, too.

I had the pleasure meeting Beth at our first Girl Scout Meeting for our girls the Fall of 2015 when our girls started kindergarten. We soon learned how we both had many of same passions like love for Downtown Tucson, 80’s music and pop culture especially movies & lines from those movies plus Disneyland & beer, too! I will miss seeing her wear great 80’s iconic t-shirts.

A year later, we became Girl Scouts Troop Leaders for Troop 257 for our daughters and we have so many memories with our daughters growing as Girl Scouts. Beth always had a big smile & shined when she came to every meeting ready to help. Rhys was our honorary member, he came to our meetings and even join in on the fun.

Beth & I became friends outside of Girl Scouts, too. Every summer, we take the kids to the Marana Pool and movies summer program and try to see each other with the kids a lot during the summer. We enjoyed great conversation!

She was always a great trooper! Even when it came to camping at Girl Scout Camp on Mt. Lemmon where we froze our tails off for the weekend but did it with a smile! April 2019 (Photos coming soon.)

I will miss her Happy Friday-Eve and Friday post on Facebook and texts, too. I’ll miss her great humor! I’ll miss my friend.

This is actually one of my favorite photographs of Beth. She would get annoyed at all the random pictures I would take and tell me to live in the moment instead of through my camera. This one was during breakfast in Berchtesgaden...she would cross her arms and make that expression whenever I was pushing her buttons and annoying her in some way. I am glad I took this picture.

Beth smiling after Teagan got her face painted. She was a huge fan of London Broil, a comedy juggling act. We actually went to Colorado mostly because she wanted to see them after missing them for two years of pandemic cancellations. She got to see them on her last day which makes me happy.

Beth loved going to Rhys's baseball games with the other special needs kids. We met so many wonderful people at those games.

Golden Pin Lanes on Miracle Mile in Tucson
August 2, 2004 Monday Night Bowling group
I first met Beth on November 8, 1999 at the old Golden Pin Lanes on Miracle Mile in Tucson. Our bowling group was initially established as a UofA atmospheric science department social night but grew to include friends too. Beth quickly became a big part of my social life because as anyone can attest, Beth was synonymous with fun. We hit up Club Congress, the Wildcat House, Frog & Firkin, and everywhere else in between.

For the six years I lived in Tucson we consistently bowled and records were meticulously kept. Beth averaged in the high 120s and had a high score of 180, but it was never about bowling. It was about good times with good friends. Beth will be remembered always and her spirit will live on in those fortunate enough to have known her.
I have been struggling with this and what to say... I had the pleasure of being Beth's best friend from elementary through high school. We lost touch for some time but found each other again when she came back home. She would take me out for my birthday and never forget to think of me. Her families house was a sanctuary for me as I helped with my siblings after school and had to miss out on alot of my childhood. Lynne, Skip, and Mitch always welcomed me and never made me feel like anything but family. There were countless slumber parties where Beth and I would laugh until we cried, watch our favorite boy bands and scream in excitement when our favorite one came on only to have Lynne gently scold us that it was bedtime.. Beth loved music!!! She always said she was born in the wrong decade because she loved the Beatles and other 60's musicians. We would buy the teen magazines and load our walls with our favorites like Johnny Depp and Kirk Cameron, Corey Haim, etc... We would kiss our hand and then plant it on the posters when leaving. We loved singing and we would save up to go to the recording studio in the Tucson Mall and record our favorites.. We had a blast. I remember when Mitch was in his bedroom (playing his keyboard, I think) when we got home and we listened outside the door, he was singing a love ballad... I remember the countless Girl Scout crafts and sleepovers. The little weenie dogs that would accompany us and seeing Beth walking many times... I loved her so. The many times getting ready for dances and chirping with excitement planning what we were wearing and shopping at the mall for our favorites.. I have so many wonderful memories of her that I could write a book. I recently had Beth, Teagan, and Rhys over to swim while their pool was still being built and she brought that same smile and laugh we all loved. She always was patient, caring and kind. I was so excited to plan our next get together to meet you Jim and have some beers together. I am saddened that these events that Beth and I spoke about will not happen. I was looking forward to being around this amazing woman more. I was blessed that God knew I needed someone during a difficult childhood and blessed me Elizabeth Margo Heyne as my best friend. I am so blessed to have had this beautiful angel in my life for 36 years and I will never forget what she meant to me...I was driving to pick up my children Sunday afternoon and was thinking of her on my silent drive. The sides of the road were filled with beautiful wild poppies. It made me think of her. She was sunshine and I will forever see her in the wildflowers that bring happiness and comfort. I knew in that moment she was with me in my grief on that car ride. The world is dimmer without you Bethy, but the stars will shine brighter... I love my sweet friend, thank you for the memories...

I remember Beth as always having a smile for any occasion. She was funny, caring, and passionate about people and the things she was interested in. I could count on her for an honest opinion and would help on thhe few occasions I asked. I will forever remember her smiling face. I thank her for all the happy memories and will miss her always. 🥲

Sending my love to you and all our family who love Beth so incredibly much and are all so moved by this tragedy. I'm a cousin of Beth's from Chicago. I only got to meet you all once back in 2015 with my partner Bin and 2-yr-old, Rhyze. I'm so glad I did get to meet you and her and your beautiful children. Although I am distant, not a day goes by when I don't think of you all and send you love.

Beth was one of the brightest souls I know. We worked in education together in Tucson, and with her, Jim and friends, I got to relive my 80's dancing at club DV8. She always wore a smile. Many rich, fun memories! Luv ya n miss ya Beth, and peace to all fam.
