I spent many of Ed's birthdays with him at the NY Metro Backgammon tournament at the Hyatt in Jersey City. We'd drive up together,  share a room - often with Frank Raposa - and more often than not Ed would come away with a big trophy or two.   I'm  there now sharing a room with Frank and really missing Ed.
Ed will be missed by all who knew him to be a gentle soul.

I am so sorry for your family’s loss. I will always remember Mr. O’Laughlin advising me and Erin to not head the ball in soccer practice or games growing up! He was always thinking ahead - knowing Erin and I needed our brains to be free of concussions! He was always warm and funny - and will be dearly missed.
it's terrible to hear your loss and i express my deepest condolences to you and your family
I'm so sorry for your loss. Condolences to you and the family 🙏. Sending love and prayers. God bless 🙏 ❤️ 🙏 RIP Ed.
My deepest condolences to Ed’s wife Erin, children, family and friends. He was a regular in our backgammon tournament club and was known for his astute backgammon skills. While I didn’t get to play with Ed as much as I would have liked to, the few times I did he inspired me to be a better player. He will be missed.
