Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc.

Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outings.

The fourth-annual PHWFF partnership with the Herman Lucerne Memorial Foundation will conduct the “Backcountry Purple Heart/Disabled Veterans Slam III”, tentatively August 2020 in Islamorada Florida. Fishing for 2 days in Everglades National Park, for thirty wounded and disabled veterans, in order to assist in their medical recovery and rehabilitation.

You can donate either directly to the national organization, and earmark for the South Florida " Backcountry Purple Heart/Disabled Veterans Slam III'' or you can make a donation directly to Herman Lucerne in your Ed Maroney's name earmarked for this event.

Edward “Ed” Dennis Maroney, 75, died on June 8 in his home in Boynton Beach, Florida. He is remembered with love by family, friends, and his AA community.

Ed was born on November 26, 1944, to Edward "Eddie" and Helen Maroney, in Elizabeth, New Jersey. After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School, he served four years of honorable service in the U.S. Marines. On the G.I. Bill, he attended Ocean County College and Rutgers University. …
