There's so many things I could say about my Grandfather. He was a man of integrity, strong morals, and values of family. And a huge family we have. He was the heart, and the rock of us all. At any occasion we gathered, he sat at the head of the table. And that seat can never be filled. Before our meal, he would always lead us in prayer, thanking the Lord graciously for our food, and all our other abundant blessings. I will miss that. Because I know and will cherish how beautifully worded and true it was, and how I was reminded to be grateful for everything, especially family in those moments. On the night he passed my aunt reminded me, that I to was a part of his personal prayers. And he only wished for me to live a good life and make it through my struggles. I'm very appreciative to have had such a wonderful and thoughtful man for a grandfather. And so grateful to have one who taught me the power of prayer, and also to have had one that prayed for me.
Thanks for always loving, and being there. ♥️ And thanks for praying.
I'll always love and miss you, Grandpa.

Grandpa “papa”

I wanted to share a few words about my grandpa. He was a fantastic man with a huge heart. I guess in a way I always though he was invincible much like Superman in my eyes. In-fact he was my Superman and my hero he always seemed larger than life and enjoyed every second god gave him. I can remember visiting him in the hospital when he got his knees replaced and he just shrugged it off and said it was just time for an upgrade. He always was there when you needed him. He would just show up at your house to say hi, which I will cherish forever! He always knew what I needed in any situation life has thrown at me good, bad or other wise! He always showed interest in my life and who I was as a person. He treated my wife like his own grandchild which shows a lot about who he was. A great man and a loving man. I learned more from him than I can even begin to explain! I will miss him everyday! So one last time “grandpa can we ride the jet skis?”

My father was a man of integrity. He was a perfect example of what it meant to be honest and true to your word. He was a man with a quick sense of humor and heart full of love for his family, but even more so for his beautiful bride of almost 70 years.

This past Wednesday we got word that he was taking a turn for the worse after surviving a very risky surgery. A literal line of family members quickly formed to say goodbye to Dad. After about 9 hours of talking with his wife, his kids and his grandkids, and few minutes after the last grandchild left his room, with my sister holding his hand, he took his final breath and passed into peace.

The hole that his passing has left in our hearts is enormous, but the legacy that he left behind is even larger.
Ed was the rock in this huge family, in my opinion. I feel very lucky to have spent time at their beautiful home on the lake when his daughter Shelley and I were best friends. He was always pretty quiet when my daughter Samantha and I were there, but he always made sure there was gas in the water toys and welcomed us with a smile. I think he really enjoyed seeing us all have a great time. And boy, did we have some good times! ❤️ I’ll never forget when I poured the rest of a can of pop out in the grass and Shelley said “don’t let my Dad see that, he hate ants!” I never dropped a crumb on his pristine grass again!

Marcy and Ed catered my wedding in 2010. I think they were actually retired at the time, but we had formed a bond when losing Shelley and I will be forever grateful they were part of my special day. They all did a beautiful job and worked their tails off and I so appreciate their generousity.

It’s hard to imagine Ed being gone. My heart is so heavy for him, Marcy, and all his family. I imagine a huge hole in the gatherings at the lake now, but find peace knowing he was SO SO loved by all his family and I have no doubt they all know how lucky they are to have had this gentle and strong giant in their lives.

Rest in peace Ed. ❤️ Thank you for being a special part of my life.
