Background

Ed story was complex. Despite being raised in a hard environment he persevered and ultimately starting his own business and started a family. He strived to help others around him and taught family members and his employees a trade so they could provide for their own. Life got a lot tougher when he took on the responsibility for his three nephews when their family could no longer care for them. Ultimately, the family struggled and he got divorced and then remarried. Both wives passed in the same year, 2007. He was exceptionally close to his daughter, Cheryl Kurfurst, until she passed from suicide in 2002 at the age of 22. Following all of this loss, he spent several years in a deep depression interluding with a myriad of health issues. After losing Cheryl, he lost his drive and will and held deeply to his relationship with his daughter Terri until he passed in Jun 2025. He didn't have after death plans or savings and thus funeral costs are being solely borne by his surviving daughter. He lived a hard life and deserved better. His daughter Terri is honoring the peace and life she wanted for him through plans for a funeral and burial. He will now be with Cheryl and we hope his soul will finally be at peace.
