1 year anniversary of Eddie’s death:

Jennifer Monin posted last year:

Dec. 24, 2024, 3:43 p.m. EST

Eddie passed on the Winter Solstice- when the darkest most yin days shift toward the light. Eddie embodied Yang energy to me- Light!

This poem by Diane di Prima resonates.

The fact is: the Light will increase

It always does. Whether we think it should

Or not. No matter how determined

We are to be gloomy.

We may be sure that things

are worse than ever.

We may even be right

But

HERE COMES THE SUN

Try & stop it.

2025, Happy Birthday Cousin Ed

You will continue to be my hero as the years pass by very quickly.

Today reminds me of another Sunday in the Bronx when we would get together to play Stickball. Home run was hitting the rubber ball over the elevated train tracks .

Your rules.

Then back inside for your mom’s Italian dinner.

Laura, Danny , Ray and I would share laughs and watch your dad (My Uncle John) display his “thoughts”about the Yankees bad plays, lack of hustle or an umpire's bad call.

Great times never to be forgotten.

I miss you as we all do. Love to your family.

Happy Birthday hero…continue to rest in peace.

Cousin Louie

Dear Nancy and family,

Rosanna and I are sending our deepest sympathies to you and your entire family.

Personally, I wish to thank Ed for being a mentor to me as we grew up together in the Bronx.  Our times together were precious playing baseball, football or enjoying a Sunday afternoon at a family get together with many cousins ending with a stickball game.

I will admire Ed’s intelligence, athleticism and self confidence and goodness as he breezed through high school , college and served his country in the Air Force.

I thank Laura and Dan for sharing Ed with the rest of the family . They were wonderful siblings to Ed. It was fun to watch them grow up together in a high energy household with lots of laughs and wild times.

To Nancy, Jessie, Gaby and Diana please find peace in knowing that he will remain in your hearts forever.

Our deepest condolences,

Lou and Rosanna Preziosi

So sorry for your loss.  Your dad/husband was such a great person. I could clearly see how much he loved all of you!

So sorry for Uncle Ed's passing. I always had great memories coming back east and staying with Ed, Nancy and amazing DiMuro sisters growing up. We got to watch MTV, Fraggle Rock, Saturday Night Live  and play Sega. I remember thinking it was really funny that your fridge had 2 orange juice containers - One for the kids and the good stuff for ED! I remmeber him for his wit and love of good pop culture. Also you cannot underestimate the power of seeing your parent's sibling giving them a hard time - priceless stuff (sorry mom!)

Love all the amazing photos that have been posted.

- Dan

I have many memories from middle school and high school of going to Diana’s house and chatting with Mr. DiMuro while he leaned over the kitchen counter - he had a very particular way of doing that when he was talking, and I can see it in my mind’s eye!I remember him as a witty and generous person. I also never left the house unfed. I remember Mr. Dimuro had great taste in books and movies, and literal great taste in food.

I know he had high academic standards, but growing up, I could also always tell he was extremely, extremely proud of Diana, and Gaby and Jessie.

The times he described his life growing up were vivid and always really captivated me, and I have liked seeing all the black and white photos of his childhood here.

My whole family sends their love and condolences on your loss.

I was so sorry to hear about Edward's passing. Always had good memories visiting with him and my cousins at their home in Wappingers Falls. Our thoughts and prayers are with all your family.
Deepest condolences from the Chen family -- Mr. D was an amazing dad, husband, and person. Take care and cherish these memories, Gaby, Jessie, Diana, and Mrs. D.

Eddie and I decided to run away from home (can’t remember why) and packed a small suitcase with food and a few items of clothing. We walked to a vacant lot on 238 St., sat on two large rocks, and promptly consumed what we had brought.

We must have decided to come home before dark when we had run out of food. I don’t remember my mother being particularly  concerned nor upset.

Again, unsupervised play leads to interesting experiences.
