💡 Arrive 20 minutes early to the service to maximize time
We want to make sure that everyone attending has a smooth experience navigating the honors/memorial service & that we make the most out of it
The national cemetery has informed us of a few best practices:
- When you enter the cemetery, there's going to be a sign to your right that says, " South Florida National Cemetary - Lane 1,2,3,4,5,6 ". Make a right at that sign instead of keeping straight, this is the only way you can access the lanes. If you go straight, you will most likely get lost.
- Everyone attending this service should meet at lane 3 and be parked there 15 minutes ahead of time. This is where the service will begin. From there we will then walk to our designated shelters on the property where the honors service will be taking place. Everything is timed at the cemetery, so the sooner we walk to the shelter the more time we will have to be together. So please be ready to walk to the shelter at 12:45pm so we can begin on time at 1:00pm.
During the memorial service, we will have a short time period of 10 mins where those who wish to say something can share words of love in memory of Edward. We will open it up to everyone, but please try to keep it brief so everyone who wishes to say a couple words can. It can be a prayer, memory, or a short loving thought. We recommend you prepare what you wish to say ahead of time. If you're prepared ahead of time, it will help you be less nervous & remember the meaningful words you wish to share in memory of Edward.
We look forward to being with everyone and celebrating the life of Edward.
